At JetStream, we want you to know exactly when your deposited funds will be ready for you to use. Our policy is to make funds you deposit in person at one of our branches, at an ATM operated by us, by mobile deposit, or by mail available to you on the second business day after the day we receive your deposit, with the first $275 available on the first business day after the day of your deposit.
What is a Business Day?
Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. Deposits made in person at one of our branches on a business day before we close, or deposits successfully completed at an ATM we operate or by mobile deposit on a business day that we are open by 2:00 p.m. Easter Time, count as that day’s deposit.
Deposits made after we close, deposits successfully complete at an ATM we operate or by mobile deposit after 2:00 p.m. Easter Time, or made on a day we are not open, count as deposited on the next business day we are open.
When Your Funds Will Be Available
- Same-Day: Electronic direct deposits are available the same business day we receive them.
- Next-Day: Cash, wire transfers, and certain checks payable to you (like U.S. Treasury, State, local government, cashier’s, certified, Federal Reserve Bank, or Federal Home Loan Bank checks, checks drawn on JetStream FCU, and postal money orders).
- Other check deposits:
- The first $275 will be available the next business day.
- The rest will be available on the second business day after your deposit.
For example, if you deposit a $700 check on Monday, $275 will be available Tuesday, and the remaining $425 on Wednesday.
- If you mail your deposit or use another non-in-person method, these funds will be available on the second business day after we receive your deposit.
- Check Cashing: If we cash a check drawn on another bank, we may hold the same amount in your account until the check clears, just as if you had deposited it. If we deposit a check from another bank and make the funds available immediately, we may place a hold on the same amount in another JetStream account you have until the check clears.
- When Longer Delays May Apply: We will notify you if the following delays apply - funds will be available no later than the seventh business day after your deposit:
- We suspect a check you deposit will not be paid.
- You deposit checks totaling more than $6,725 in one day.
- You redeposit a returned check.
- Your account has been repeatedly overdrawn in the past six months.
- An emergency occurs (e.g., systems failure).
- Special Rules for New Accounts (First 30 Days):
- Cash, wire transfers, and the first $6,725 of government, cashier, certified, teller, and traveler’s checks are available the next business day if payable to you and deposited in person. Amounts over $6,725 will be available on the seventh business day.
- If these checks are not deposited in person, the first $6,725 will be available on the second business day, with any excess available on the seventh business day.
- All other check deposits will be available on the seventh business day after deposit.
Important: Even after funds are available and you withdraw them, you are still responsible if checks you deposit are returned unpaid.
